Coral has reaffirmed its dedication to the Lebanese community by playing a key role in restoring a vital firefighting vehicle in the Iqlim Al-Kharroub region. The truck, previously damaged during a firefighting mission, was unveiled during Minister of Environment Dr. Nasser Yassin’s visit to Chhim for the launch of the “Fire Prevention Campaign,” highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen Lebanon’s firefighting capabilities.
During his visit, Yassin inspected the Chhim Civil Defense Center and met with its members, accompanied by notable figures including Regional Director of Civil Defense in Mount Lebanon Houssam Dahrouj and Iqlim Al-Kharroub Fire Monitoring Group Supervisor Engineer Ghazi Issa. Representing Coral were Marketing Director Valérie Khater, Head of Operations Badia Louis, and Head of Health, Safety and Environment Wassim Naddi.
The refurbished truck, severely damaged and non-functional after an accident during a firefighting operation last year, has been fully restored by Coral. This initiative returned the vehicle to full operational capacity, ready to support future firefighting missions.
Dahrouj expressed gratitude to Coral for its pivotal role in the truck’s restoration, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and transparency in supporting Civil Defense. He noted that such partnerships are essential for maintaining public safety.
Speaking on behalf of Coral, Marketing Director Valerie Khater reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting public initiatives. “It is Coral’s national and social duty to stand behind institutions and associations that serve the common good,” Khater stated, expressing hope for a fire-free summer across Lebanon. She also thanked Minister Yassin for allowing Coral to contribute to this important cause.
Yassin praised the efforts of the Fire Monitoring Group, the media, and all entities involved in firefighting initiatives. He stressed the critical role of Civil Defense in Lebanon’s safety, noting that “Investing in Civil Defense is a preventative measure that saves lives and mitigates losses.”
The event concluded with an inspection of Civil Defense vehicles, discussions about their needs, and exploration of future support avenues. The day underscored the crucial role of public-private partnerships in safeguarding communities, with Coral’s contribution standing as a testament to its commitment to Lebanon’s civil services and public safety.
